ELDER

Roger Weis

Nearing his retirement from the United States Postal Service in 2018, God was calling Roger to leave his home church in Defiance and find a church where he lived in Henry County. God led him to Crossroads in 2019, and he and Krista are beyond grateful for that.

Roger and Krista both came to faith during the Jesus movement of the 1970s when Christ radically changed their lives. They have been married since 1975 and have been blessed with two daughters, Gabrielle (Troy) and Rachel (Chad). Along with their daughters and their husbands, they have been blessed by their grandchildren, Cain, Grant, and Leah.

They serve together in the cafe, freedom, prayer, and connect teams, and they both help lead Connect Groups. Krista is also a LifeWise volunteer. Roger has been a volunteer chaplain at CCNO since 1996 and helps lead a Bible study at Ohio Guidestone (Renewed Minds).

In their leisure time, they love to travel, visiting historical places and seeing the beauty of God’s creation. They also love antiques and spend much time tending their gardens.

Roger has always had a passion for evangelism, but since coming to Crossroads, God has ignited a passion for wanting to see the people of His church at Crossroads mature in their relationship with Christ (Colossians 1:28). As imperfect people, they strive to live lives where they can without hesitation say, “Imitate me, just as I imitate Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1) and to “be an example in what they say and the way they live” (1 Timothy 4:12).
