The Power of Community | Acts 2:42-47

So far in our “Rhythms of Residency” teaching series we’ve covered a number of familiar spiritual practices.  When it comes to growing spiritually, most of us appreciate the value of reading the bible, prayer, solitude, generosity, and service.  This week, we’re going to be introduced to an important spiritual rhythm Jesus practiced……community.

Our Big Idea for Sunday is this: Church is not a building or a service we simply attend; it’s a family where we are formed.  Jesus and the early church were committed to shared life, (koinonia), with one another.  This shared life between a diverse group of people was the “learning lab” God used to shape and transform their lives.

Participating in real authentic community at Crossroads is not more important than other core spiritual practices, but it is as important.  Join us this Sunday as we explore what community looks like and how God uses it to transform our lives.

Come join us this Sunday at 9am or 11am to see what community is all about!

🟡 🔺 🟦 SHAPE Assessment 🟦 🔺 🟡

Last Sunday, Levi introduced an exciting new tool designed to help you move from “rowing” to “sailing” in your spiritual life. We are officially rolling out the SHAPE Assessment, a resource to help you discover exactly how God has uniquely wired you to serve.

By understanding your unique design, you can find the joy of serving where you are most effective—and gain the freedom to say a graceful “no” to the things He hasn’t called you to. SHAPE stands for:

  • Spiritual Gifts: God-given abilities for building up the church.
  • Heart: The passions and things you care about most.
  • Abilities: The natural talents and skills you possess.
  • Personality: Your unique way of relating to the world.
  • Experience: The life lessons and history God has used to mold you.

Stop catching the wind of the Spirit in your own strength and start training for reigning! You can take the assessment today at the link below:

⏰ Spring Forward | Don’t Be Late! ⏰

It’s that time of year again! This Sunday, March 8, we “spring forward” for Daylight Saving Time. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.

We’d hate for you to miss a single minute of our gatherings, so extra coffee will be waiting for you! ☕️

🍕 Serve Our Senior High Students | Wednesday Night Meals 🍕

We are looking for individuals, families or ConnectGroups to join the team and sign up to bring meals to our Senior High Youth Group on Wednesday nights! This is a simple but powerful way to bless our 9th–12th grade students.

Many of our students are coming straight from sports practices or other school activities and don’t have time to grab dinner before they arrive. Providing a meal allows them to slow down and connect with one another over food before they jump into their lesson for the night.

The Details: 🥗

  • Who: 30 hungry High school students.
  • When: Wednesday nights by 6:30 pm during the school year.
  • Impact: You’re providing the fuel they need to focus on growing in their walk with Jesus.

If you’re interested in this act of Generous Service, please contact the Brett Yungmann (419) 670-7350 to get on the schedule!

Passover Meal | A Seder Experience

Join us Thursday April 2nd at 6pm for a powerful, devotional journey as we observe Maundy Thursday by blending the traditional Passover story with the Last Supper. This intimate evening is designed to help our church family transition from the “Old Story” of the Exodus to the “New Story” of Jesus as our Passover Lamb. Rather than a theatrical reenactment, this will be a reflective time of worship, tasting, and fellowship.

Important Details

  • A Family Experience: This is a wonderful night for families! Children have a special role in asking questions about the bread, the herbs, and the “lean” of freedom.
  • Limited Seating: To maintain an intimate atmosphere, seats are limited. Please register early to secure your spot.
  • Deadline: Please register by Sunday, March 29th.
  • Register Here: Passover Meal Registration

🍲 Crossroads We Care | Meal Support 🍲

Welcoming a new “bun in the oven” to the family is an incredible blessing, but it can also be a whirlwind! Your Crossroads family is ready to pull up a chair and support you as you transition into this new season of life.

We are activating our We Care network to ensure your kitchen stays stocked while you focus on your new arrival. This ministry is about more than just a delivery; it is a core part of our mission to live life together in the practical, messy, and beautiful moments of parenthood.

Expecting or recently welcomed a new baby? Click the link below to share your details. You can let us know about food allergies, strong dislikes, and even your favorite local takeout spots—this helps volunteers who may not have the time to cook still show up for you with a meal you’ll enjoy!

Join us Sunday, March 8th from 6-8pm, we’ll meet in the fellowship hall for finger food and desserts.  We will stuff plastic Easter eggs for the Community Easter Egg Hunt.  Several churches in Napoleon host this event annually.  A total of 8,000 to 9,000 plastic Easter eggs will be stuffed for the event held on March 28th.  (We won’t be doing all of those.)  Come and enjoy some food and fellowship and help make this community event a success for hundreds of children in the community.  There are also opportunities to volunteer on March 28th.  See Wes for more details.

What to Bring:

  • A finger food and or dessert to share.
  • We will need about 2000 individually wrapped pieces of candy that fit inside a plastic Easter egg.
  • We do not need any plastic eggs.  (Just lots and lots of candy.)

*If you cannot attend the gathering on the 8th but want to donate candy it would be appreciated.  Feel free to leave it in the box by the stairs in the church lobby.

Food & Supply Drive for Hayat Jadida

We are hosting a drive to support Hayat Jadida, a Christ-centered, diverse family of believers in Toledo, Ohio. This community consists of both Arabic and English speakers who are dedicated to spreading the Light of Christ through acts of mercy and truth. We have the opportunity to partner with them by providing essential resources for their families.

Because there are specific dietary needs for the families we are supporting, we ask that you pick up a tag in the lobby this Sunday morning with the specific items you would like to donate.

How You Can Help:

  • Pantry & Food Items: Please bring non-perishable food and pantry staples to the church kitchen.
  • Cleaning Supplies: We are also collecting household cleaning items to help support these homes.
  • Monetary Donations: If you would rather donate money to help supply perishable items (like eggs & butter), please drop your donation at the church office.

Please ensure all physical items are brought to the church kitchen no later than March 29th. Your generosity provides tangible relief and shares the freedom found in Christ with our neighbors.

🎶 Easter Sunday | CR Kids are Singing! 🎶

We are so excited to announce that our CR Kids will be performing “Halle” by Phil Wickham on Easter Sunday during both of our morning gatherings! Your children only need to participate during the gathering your family typically attends.

While we will be practicing together in CR Kids leading up to Easter, we would love for you to help them prepare at home. It is a joyful, catchy song that we think you’ll find yourself singing right along with them! Playing it in the car or at home is a great way to equip them to lead us in worship with confidence.
