Psalm 13 | Learning to Lament
I don’t know about you, but sometimes life feels like one giant, messy diaper change where you’re just looking up and yelling, “How long?!” (And yes, I have actually thrown up on my kid during a diaper change… ask me about it Sunday).
But seriously, whether it’s the exhausting trenches of parenting, a dead-end job, or carrying some really heavy heartbreak with a loved one, we all hit those walls.
Usually, the world tells us to just vent to the internet (which just makes us bitter), and religion tells us to paste on a fake smile and hit people with a classic “I’m blessed, brother!” (which is honestly just exhausting).
This Sunday, we’re diving into Psalm 13. David wrote this one while hiding in a damp cave, and let me tell you, he doesn’t hold back. It’s a raw, unfiltered protest to God. But the absolute best part is how it points us straight to Jesus—Emmanuel, God with us. When we’re hurting, He doesn’t just hand us a theological bumper sticker. He actually gets it, He stands in the dirt with us, and He has the power to do something about it.

📦 Food & Supply Drive for Hayat Jadida 🥫
Now – August 2
We are hosting a drive to support Hayat Jadida, a Christ-centered, diverse family of believers in Toledo, Ohio consisting of both Arabic and English speakers. While they are not currently receiving new refugee families, they are deeply committed to continuing their ministry, evangelizing, and building long-term relationships with the families they have already served. Having food to distribute gives their team a vital reason and opportunity to visit these homes, check in on them, and share the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ.
Because there are specific dietary needs for the families we are supporting, we ask that you pick up a tag in the lobby this Sunday morning with the specific items you would like to donate.
How You Can Help:
- Pantry & Food Items: Please bring non-perishable food and pantry staples to the church kitchen.
- Cleaning Supplies: We are also collecting household cleaning items to help support these homes.
- Monetary Donations: If you would rather donate money to help supply perishable items (like eggs & butter), please drop your donation at the church office.
Please ensure all physical items are brought to the church kitchen no later than Sunday, August 2nd, as we will be delivering all of the food to them on Monday, August 3rd. Your generosity provides tangible relief and creates a doorway for the freedom found in Christ to be shared with our neighbors!

On Saturday, August 8, Hawks Pizza is hosting a special Community Day for our church family. They will be generously donating 10% of all proceeds directly back to Crossroads Ministries. You have to eat anyway, so you might as well make it a pizza, sub, or taco night! Save the date! We are excited to co-host a powerful weekend seminar alongside North Clinton Church, focusing on discovering God’s pathway to freedom, healing, and wholeness.
Throughout the weekend, we will dive into materials from the book Understanding the Wounded Heart by Deeper Walk International. Together, we’ll explore how to identify and find healing for the deep emotional and spiritual wounds that keep us from experiencing the abundant life God has for us.

If you have an abundance of fresh fruits, vegetables, or garden goods and want to share them with your church family, feel free to bring them in and place them on the stand. Anyone is welcome to stop by, check out the selection, and take home some fresh goodies. It’s a wonderful, practical way to bless one another and share in the harvest the Lord has provided!
